Yeong-mi was born and raised in Pusan (or Busan), Korea. She graduated from Pusan Girl's Commercial High School and worked for Hung-A Industrial Company. She came to the U.S. in 1985 and has lived in Provo & Orem, Utah; Rochester, New York; & Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is fond of reading and listening to opera CDs.  She is also an EXCELLENT cook!

Yeong-mi is a very good amateur artist. She is especially good with pastels. Here are some examples of her work:
